One consult, start to finish.

A thirty-minute appointment, documented without you typing during it or after it. Here is every step, including the one you still do.

Before the consult

Consent, then your phone on the desk

You tell the patient you use a tool that writes your notes from the conversation, and you ask whether that is alright. You ask once per patient, not at every visit — their answer is recorded with the date it was given, and recording will not start for a patient who has not agreed. If they would rather you did not, you document the consult the way you always have and nothing else about the appointment changes.

Then you start the recording and put the phone down. Face up on the desk, or in a pocket. There is no microphone to buy, no dock, and nothing for the patient to look at.

During the consult

You do the consult

You take a history, assess, treat and explain. You are not talking to the app and you do not have to narrate for it — it is listening to a normal conversation, including the parts where the patient is doing the talking.

You can stop and start it. A phone call in the middle of an appointment, a patient stepping out, a conversation in the corridor you would rather was not captured — pause it.

As you finish

The draft is ready before you are

You stop the recording and the note is drafted — structured the way you already document, in the language you already use, with the assessment and the plan in the sections you expect them in.

It is a draft of what was said and done in the room. It does not suggest a diagnosis, propose treatment, or add anything you did not say. Anyhealth writes up the consult; the clinical work stays yours.

Before it goes anywhere

You read it and you sign it

Every note is reviewed by the practitioner before it leaves Anyhealth. You read it, change anything you want changed, and sign it. Nothing reaches your practice management system unsigned.

This is the step we are least interested in removing. It is your name on the record and your registration behind it, and a note you have not read is not a note you can stand behind. Most take well under a minute to check.

After you sign

It lands in your practice management software

The signed note is written back into your practice management software, attached to the right patient and the right appointment, in your own treatment note format. You do not copy anything across, and you do not go looking for it in a second system later.

If your practice management software is unreachable when you sign, the note is still signed and saved here — nothing is lost. Anyhealth tells you the send did not go through, and one tap sends it when you are back.

Practice management software

Anyhealth is built to write back into whichever system your practice already runs on. Cliniko is connected today. Nookal and Halaxy are in early access, onboarded personally and a small number of practices at a time. If you use something else, tell us which one when you book a demo — that is how we decide what to connect next, and we would rather say “not yet” than name a date we have not committed to.

Working across more than one practice management system

Try it against your own appointment types.

The fastest way to know whether the note is good enough is to see one from a consult you recognise.
